How does AOMrecord work?
The music you play on your computer takes the following way (simplified, top down):

| From CD or harddisk | From the internet | |

| Media Player | A provider's access program or web browser | |

In practice AOMrecord listens to the music that is played using your computer's soundcard. There are rare cases that this way of listening is not implemented by the producer of the soundcard. In these cases it is necessary to connect an output of the soundcard with an input using a cable.
If you use AOL radio or some other music providers, AOMrecord retrieves the data for artist and song name and is able to combine them with the song.
And because AOMrecord is smart and wants to ease your work, it recognizes breaks between songs by itself and separates the data stream into single songs.
Of course AOMrecord is able to record music from other sources that are connected to an input of your soundcard (e.g. from the record player) or from other internet radio stations. Doing this, the adjustable pause recognition is very helpful, too.
You can store the recorded audio data in these common formats: WAV, MP3, WMA, OGG.
Quality and compression rates may be selected freely.
